The 1/1st West Kent Yeomanry landed at Cape Helles, Gallipoli on 8 October 1915. Taylor and his comrades were quickly deployed to the Gully Ravine sector, where General Sir Ian Hamilton noted that they 'made a brave showing'; so, too, in subsequent actions at 'Border Barricade' and 'Fusilier Bluff'. Taylor later served in the Military Mounted Police; sold with copied MIC.
