George John Davies Heath, Colonel, Madras Native Infantry & Madras Staff Corps, Sub Assistant Commissary General. Born County Antrim Ireland, 8th April 1832 and baptised on 14th February 1834 in St Peter Port Guernsey. The son of the Reverend George Heath and his wife Henrietta, He was educated at St Pauls school and was recommended for a cadetship of the Madras Native Infantry of the HEIC for the 1850 year. A Lieutenant with the madras native Infantry during the Indian Mutiny. He subsequently advances to Captain and then to Major in the madras Staff Corps by 1870. Promoted to Colonel, he retired to Southsea, Hants and died there aged only 48 on 3rd September 1880.
